If a nearby hike is on your to do list, take a trip to St. Peter's Village with the family. Located about 30-40 mins from downtown West Chester, it's an easy destination for a family hike. You can input St. Peter's, PA in your GPS and as you get close watch for signs to lead you to the adorable town of St. Peter's Village.

The town itself is small and quaint. It includes The Inn at St. Peter's Village, St. Peter's Bakery, The Village Scoop Ice Cream Shop, antiques, a vintage arcade and more. Save time to explore the town, maybe for some downtime in the arcade for for a cool scoop of ice cream.

If you are heading there to hike, drive to the end of the town just passed the Post Office. There will be a parking lot lined with rocks where you can gear up for your hike. Head across the bridge at the end of the lot and choose your trail. There are boulders to hop or sit on and several marked trails to choose from. French Creek travels right along the town and makes for scenic hiking.
Most of the trails are completely shaded, so it's a great option on a hot day. We packed lunch and ate it atop a boulder. We chose a few trails to explore and hiked for a little over an hour. After a hike you could stop in town for some baked goods, refreshments or arcade fun.
