It's almost time! I can't help but think of that Staples commercial with the song "It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year!" playing while the parents skip around the store grabbing supplies and likely thinking about the days ahead that will not be filled with constant sibling rivalry and constant snacking....and the kids are mopey. I remember seeing it as a kid and thinking it wasn't very funny. But it totally is! Don't get me wrong, I love having a break from packing lunches and dragging ourselves to the bus stop each day. I liked not having to return forms and contribute to fundraisers and keep track of homework. But in a way it is a most wonderful time. It's New Year's....in the Fall!
Enjoy the fresh start that a new school year brings. Go grab a cheap box of crayons or other school supplies while you still can. Plan out a few school lunches (even though if you are like me you'll end up sending the same thing every day after a while). Savor the last few days of summer break if you are still on break. Squeeze a bit more out of the weekends ahead.
