The West Chester Studio for the Performing Arts has been helping people step into their future for 6 years. As the studio merges with West Chester’s new Knauer Center For Performing Arts, those futures will be getting a whole lot brighter.

As a union professional actor who worked in LA and NYC, Therese has shaped her program to prepare young professionals to enter the industry with a focus on providing a nurturing, warm and fun environment. Her program is designed to help people of all ages and all experience levels take their next step in discovering who they are as actors and in finding their voice.

“I am thrilled to expand the program and give students access to professional production spaces in a state-of-the-art main stage theater, right here in downtown West Chester!” – Therese Walden Murphy

The classes and summer camps are small to give everyone an opportunity to play a nice-sized role. In other words, students are not standing in the background, in the chorus, watching someone else – instead they are engaged and doing it themselves. In-depth classes prepare students to shine during the bigger productions.

Winter 2017 classes will hold their March recitals in the center’s brand new Black Box Theater. The studio will be doing main stage shows in both spring and summer of 2017. Great shows that are age appropriate for kids will be fully staged using sets, customs, lighting and sound, but, as always - what you will notice is the incredible talent and the big smiling faces during curtain call.
