Happy Birthday West Whiteland Township!

Join in the festivities as WWT turns 250!

February 25, 2015
Thursday, February 26th, 2015, marks the 250th Anniversary of West Whiteland Township, and the Chester County Library is helping to kick off their year of celebratory events!

You are invited to join the festivities on this day at 11:00 a.m. in the lobby of the Chester County Library as Township Supervisors, County Commissioners and local legislators gather for an anniversary celebration. Hear about the Township’s historical milestone, enjoy a piece of anniversary cake and the sounds of the Church Farm School Choir as they perform.

Kids can decorate Birthday Cards for the Township in the Children's Room throughout the day.

At 1:00 p.m. meet at the Guernsey Cow mural on the first floor of the library for an ice cream social! Enjoy ice cream while hearing the history of the Guernsey Cow, learn about all the good things (ice cream, milk, etc) that come from cows, and kids will enjoy a special story time! The Guernsey Cow was a major tourist destination in the half century before the population explosion of Exton, West Whiteland Township and surrounding Chester County. The Guernsey Cow was “world famous” for its hand-crafted cream caramels and ice cream. It represented a pure slice of Americana.
