Some things need to be seen to believed; others need to be experienced. Such is the case at Kimberton Waldorf School- an educational oasis and your child's next home away from home. KWS offers students more than just a private education; they offer a close knit "family", unique life skills and unmatched hands on learning opportunities.  Students love Kimberton for the personalized education, emphasis on outdoor time, and Waldorf foundation.  Parents love the supportive community, parent teacher collaboration and screen-free (until 8th grade) atmosphere.  One of the most fascinating aspects of an education at Kimberton is the connection to the outdoors and nature.  Students learn to appreciate the land around them in a very real way.  Students not only help tend the school garden, they do it all, from sowing to harvesting and preservation of foods. They even learn how to prune fruit trees and work with honeybees. As students grow, so do experiential learning opportunities.  They start out with sleep overs at the local farm, then weekends at Cherry Springs (the least light polluted spot in PA for the best star-gazing!), and by high school enjoy a trip to Maine for their Zoology class.  Life truly is different as a Kimberton student and once you visit, it's not hard to see why.

 What is the Waldorf Way?

"Our rich curriculum brings the arts, science, humanities, language arts, and practical arts to students in a way that brings to life the fact that all knowledge is interrelated.  Students develop a deep sense of respect for each other, for the environment, and for the world at large as they experience a Waldorf curriculum that encourages, enables, and values the contribution of individuals, groups, and communities to the improvement of our common human culture.

Waldorf education engages the head, heart and hands in a deeply, meaningful way that allows students to develop a love of learning, an intrinsic desire for discovery, and confidence in their ability to master anything.  This is Education That Matters."

This fall, Kimberton Waldorf is opening it's doors for three special open house events; lower school (1st-8th grade), high school (9th-12), and a day dedicated to early education (preschool and kindergarten).   Open Houses give you a chance to tour the facility, meet faculty and staff, observe a real class, and even have a round table/ Q&A with current students about their KWS educational experience.  There really is no substitute for seeing the school in action; kids playing in fields, a chemistry class, visit the gardens, meet the physical ed, woodworking and music instructors, smelling the organic lunch being prepared.... it all gives you a feel for life at Kimberton.  If you think your child could be happy at Kimberton, come find out in person this fall and don't forget to taste the yogurt produced on-site at the school's biodynamic organic dairy farm!

The Lower School

"The Lower School cultivates the imaginative capacities of first through eighth graders through integrative education and hands-on learning. When children learn by doing and are encouraged to think creatively, they are able to make connections between art, nature, and academics in a way that cultivates their innate curiosity and deepens their appreciation for the world around them."

The High School

"The High School provides a rich, rigorous, immersive academic experience for students in grades nine through twelve. Teachers craft experiences which sharpen students’ growing intellectual capacities and strengthen their powers of judgment and creative thinking, while students take on more responsibilities for their own education.  Learning is not limited to the classroom, but engages the student with the world through rich and meaningful experiences."

Early Education

"Get to know our early childhood program that preserves the important elements of childhood while meeting children’s physical, social, and emotional needs. Utilizing the surrounding natural resources including a forest classroom and garden, the curriculum lays the foundations for inquiry, literacy, critical thinking, and traditional academics in the elementary grades."
