At West Chester Friends School, we believe that all children are innately curious and creative! The Play School day is chock full of opportunities for time outdoors; for drawing, painting and sculpting in a variety of mediums; for age-appropriate science exploration and invention; and for children to learn about both American song heritage and international musical cultures through instruments, dancing and song.

Full- and part-time schedules are available. For more information, please visit www.wcfriends.org and contact Barbara Rowe, Director of Admissions, at 610-696-2937 or admissions@wcfriends.org.

Business Review

The Friends Play School offers a joyous day of creative play and guided learning for “Little Friends” who are three-years-old by September.

West Chester Friends School’s youngest students explore enriched art, literature and play‐based experiences rooted in the Quaker values of Simplicity, Peace, Integrity, Community, Equality and Stewardship (SPICES).  Loving, experienced teachers model and encourage children to recognize emotions, express their feelings and needs verbally, and be respectful of friends. Group play is designed to ensure that all children “shine their light.”

Preschoolers enjoy the resources and experiences available on our elementary school campus, including studio art, time in the science lab, music, Spanish, gardening and outdoor play, library and story time, “field trips” around campus (including to the gym for movement and yoga classes, and to visit our resident hens!); and special classroom visitors, as well as appropriate assemblies, concerts and other special events.
