May 16, 2022

For 150 years, St. Agnes School has provided academic excellence and Catholic values for our students ranging in age from Preschool to Grade Eight.  Faith, Academics, Service and Fun are at the center of all that we do at St. Agnes School!

Located in the heart of the borough of West Chester, Saint Agnes School's diverse faith and cultures unite us in our service to God and Others. Saint Agnes School offers our students eleven years of continuous education from Preschool through Grade 8.

Established in 1873 under the administration of the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary (IHM's), Saint Agnes School remains committed to instilling Catholic values in a nurturing environment as is evidenced in our Mission Statement:

"Our mission at Saint Agnes Catholic School is to develop every student spiritually, intellectually, physically, emotionally, and socially in a joyful, faith-based environment that inspires integrity, citizenship, leadership and service to others in the Church and in the world."

Today Saint Agnes’ Pastor and Principal partner to ensure that Saint Agnes School continues the 150-year-old tradition of providing Catholic Values and Academic Excellence in the IHM Tradition. The spiritual needs of the students are nurtured through daily prayer, participation in the liturgies, reception of the sacraments, retreats, devotion to Mary, and parental involvement in sacramental preparation. Our Pastor's presence and support for the school attests to his dedication to Catholic Education.

Our committed faculty provides the foundation for a truly one-of-a-kind education that focuses on spiritual growth and academic excellence.  Our Learning Support staff provides an inclusive learning environment for those students who have been assessed privately or by their public school district, and determined to have an academic learning disability.  Students with needs requiring a 504 Plan may also receive support from the Learning Support Team.  As an added support, but used by all students, is our Flexible Seating which allows students to choose a seating which best support their learning style. Special Services are also provided by the Chester County Intermediate Unit (CCIU) in Math, Reading, Speech, and Guidance.

For generations, Saint Agnes School has provided a strong academic program enhanced by the latest Technology, Fine Arts, Honors Math, Honors English, Spanish, Learning Support and a State-of-the-Art Science Lab.  Each classroom includes flexible seating to accommodate our student's individual learning styles.  Students in Grades 1 to 8 have a 1:1 correspondence with Chromebooks while our Preschool, PreK and Kindergarten students have a 1:1 correspondence with Amazon Fire Tablets. Our classrooms are equipped with newly purchased Promethean Boards.  We offer a variety of extracurricular activities including music lessons, newspaper club, Scouts, etc.

Saint Agnes School has been recognized twice by the Department of Education as a National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence (2010 and 2015) and is fully accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools.  It was recognized twice by the Archdiocese of Philadelphia as a 2019 and 2021 School of Distinction.  The Class of 2021 earned $1.2 million dollars in academic scholarships to the local private and archdiocesan high schools!
